Established by Albert H. Ruddell, B. Sc. 1952 (Mechanical Engineering), and awarded to a student entering the first year of Smith Engineering on the basis of financial need and academic excellence. The award is renewable for three further years provided a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C) is maintained and financial need remains evident.
