VANCOUVER Elementary School Teachers’ Association – Elsie Roy Bursary
Campus: Vancouver A bursary of $600 is offered by the Vancouver Elementary School Teachers’ Association in honour of Elsie Roy. Miss Roy, who was the author of one of the first reading textbooks used in Vancouver’s primary classrooms, was an outstanding teacher and supervisor who served the Vancouver public school system for 44 years. The award is offered to students who are residents of Vancouver or who have attended a Vancouver elementary public school, and who are enrolled in the UBC Bachelor of Education, Elementary Program. Adjudication is made by Enrolment Services.
