Established in May 1975 by colleagues, friends, and former students of the late Professor James A. Roy, professor of English at Queen's University from 1920 to 1950. Last revised in February 2023. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to the student with the highest standing in one or more courses in Modern British, Commonwealth, or Canadian literature entering fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree program with an academic plan offered by the Department of English Literature and Creative Writing.
